Bank-Sponsored Book Presented to Pope Benedict XVI

At the beginning of January, Latvia’s Ambassador to the Holy See Einars Semanis paid a courtesy visit to Pope Benedict XVI. During the meeting at the Vatican, the Ambassador had the great pleasure of presenting the Latvian-translated book Light of the World to His Holiness Benedict XVI.

According to the Press and Information Office (the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia), Pope Benedict XVI felt thankful and immensely happy upon hearing that the book has reached Latvian-language readers.   

The Latvian-language version was published in August 2011. Valeri Belokon, the Chairperson of the Council of Baltic International Bank, has supported the idea of translating and releasing the book.
