Latvian Association of Commercial Banks urges customers to avoid using Internet Explorer when accessing their internet banking accounts

News - April 30, 2014

Taking into account major security loopholes of Internet Explorer, Latvian Association of Commercial Banks urges customers to avoid using this browser when accessing their internet banking accounts.

As reported by CERT.LV cyber-security organization, a major security flaw was recently found in Internet Explorer. This security loophole can allow fraudsters to gain remote access to the user’s PC.

According to Microsoft, this security flaw can potentially be used to trick the user into accessing fake website through which cyber criminals can gain remote access to the user’s personal computer.

European Agency for Information Security reports that this presents a major threat. It will take some time to fix it. Meanwhile, users are urged to use other available internet browsers.
