Baltic International Bank: Official Opening of the New Office Suite
On 28 April 2008, we moved into a new office suite at Grecinieku 6, Riga. The opening ceremony and presentation was held on 16 May.
The Bank’s sky-rocketing growth and its strategic orientation -- to provide individualized services for high net worth individuals (HNWIs) through private-banking operations -- were the main reasons behind the decision to renovate the downtown building that is located in the Riga Historic District. The new office provides a lot more space and better facilities for strategically significant business units – the Bank’s departments responsible for customer service.
The interior design has a good balance of a classic style and state-of-the-art features. The building combines classic architecture and modern technology and enables the staff to perform their functions within the context of the Bank’s strategy. The new premises meet all the modern-day requirements and offer us the space and opportunities to provide a superior level of service to our clients. The Bank has created a functional and aesthetically pleasing interior environment for its staff to conduct day-to-day business.
Interior decoration of the main premises specifically designed for customer service contains the elements of old English interiors where deep dark brown oak panels and cornices (they looked safe and solid and formed a monolithic load-bearing structure for supporting ceilings), soft-surface floor coverings and solid walnut wood furniture were typically used. Our preference was given to the Victorian style, since it is highly valued by the admirers of old traditions, stability and quality.
The other premises provide a professional modern-day office environment. The open space design option (an open office has few, if any, interior walls and makes use of a single space for various activities) creates a democratic environment.
We will continue using our buildings at Kaleju 41 and Kaleju 43 which will comprise the Bank’s back-offices.
