Annual Sustainability Index Silver Prize Awarded to Baltic International Bank
The results of the annual Sustainability Index have been announced today, 9 June 2016; Baltic International Bank boasts a well-deserved silver prize.
Mrs Ilona Guļčaka, Chairperson of the Management Board of Baltic International Bank, tells more: 'Baltic International Bank focuses in its strategy on sustainable development both by providing its customers with opportunities to make sustainable investments and by implementing various socially responsible business initiatives at the Bank. In 2015 the Bank was awarded the Bronze Prize of the Sustainability Index, and a lot has really been done during the year: we have completed various environmental conservation activities and the Bank has supported major projects of Latvian art and culture. We are pleased to find that our efforts have received a positive assessment in the Sustainability Index as well.'
The sustainability index is a strategic management tool based on internationally recognized methodology designed to help companies assess their operational sustainability and corporate responsibility in five areas: strategy, market relations, working environment, environmental impact, and society. It is organized by the Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility Institute in collaboration with the Latvian Employers Confederation (LDDK) and the Latvian Free Trade Union Confederation (LBAS).
