St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2009

News - June 18, 2009

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (www.forumspb.com) was held from June 4 to 6. Organisers estimated that more than 3,500 people attended the Forum. The Forum brought together top government officials, leading economists, bankers, experts and top executives of the world’s largest companies from the world’s 83 countries. Head of our Moscow-based representative office also participated in the Forum.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was a unique venue for discussing issues of current importance in the global and Russian economies. Round table participants discussed efficient, non-standard solutions for combating the ongoing global crisis, assessed the effectiveness of the anti-crisis measures taken by governments around the world, and shared their views and forecasts for the global economy in general and the banking sector in particular for the foreseeable future. We view our participation in the high-level forum as a pivotal event of paramount importance. The Forum provides an excellent opportunity to obtain in-depth and unbiased information about the economic situation in the world, to share experiences, to meet new contacts and to build relationships that may prove useful in fostering the further development of the bank’s business and our clients’ businesses.
