News - September 29, 2014

On 22 and 23 September 2014, Baltic International Bank participated in the conference 'Intax Expo Russia' that was held in Moscow and dedicated to actual issues of capital structuring and international tax planning. Head of Legal Department of Baltic International Bank Inese Lazdovska presented advantages of the Latvian economy and legislation to the Russian and foreign businessmen at the conference.

"The tendencies of ensuring greater openness and transparency in asset structuring and international tax planning continue to evolve in the world.  They are deemed to be a priority by the OECD, European Commission as well as Russia. Responsible tax planning becomes a part of routine procedures of capital owners, and the preference will be given to the jurisdictions that will be able to offer the tax planning that serves the interests of both the state and client. Latvia does not pretend that it has a universal solution of all problems, but it can offer quite attractive options and business advantages to foreign investors including the favourable holding mode and one of the lowest corporate tax rates in the European Union", emphasised Head of Legal Department of Baltic International Bank Inese Lazdovska.

367 delegates representing 37 countries participated in the conference 'Intax Expo Russia' in Moscow. Within two days, 25 presentations and discussions on actual issues of capital structuring and international tax planning took place at the conference.
