'Days of Latvia' in Dnepropetrovsk will be held with the support of Baltic International Bank

Days of Latvia organized by the Embassy of Latvia in Ukraine will be held in Dnepropetrovsk on October 29th – 30th, 2013.

One of the key points of the program of the Days of Latvia dedicated to the 95th anniversary of proclamation of the Republic of Latvia shall become a discussion 'Latvia - Ukraine in Europe', in which honorable guests – the President of Latvia (1993-1999) Guntis Ulmanis and the President of Ukraine (1994-2005) Leonid Kuchma will participate. Heads of the states who have been standing at the origins of the development of a friendly relationship between Ukraine and Latvia, Mr. Ulmanis and Mr. Kuchma, will analyze the experience gained throughout the European integration and its influence on societies of both states.

Within the framework of Days of Latvia, 'Business Contact Market' will be held with participation of responsible representatives of the organization 'Enterprise Europe Network' from Latvia and Ukraine. 'Business Contact Market' will become a useful platform for experience sharing, establishing of economic cooperation and conclusion of mutually favorable agreements by entrepreneurs from both states.

During the Days of Latvia in Dnepropetrovsk, the guests will find a diverse cultural program – in particular, the exhibition 'Collection of drawings and descriptions of Livonia by Johann Christoph Brotze (1742 - 1823) in the Academic Library of the University of Latvia', exhibition of the Latvian national costumes, preview of the movie 'Dream Team 1935' by the Latvian director Aigars Graube as well as a gala-concert of the famous Latvian classical musicians Aina Kalnciema (harpsichord), Dita Krenberga (flute), Inga Sunepa (cello).

More than 300 of scientific publications on the Latvian history, ethnography, literature as well as fiction books in the English, Russian and Ukrainian languages will be presented to Dnepropetrovsk in the name of the Academic Library of the University of Latvia. Special attention shall be devoted to 'Epiphanies' by the Latvian poet Imants Ziedonis published in Riga in the Ukrainian language. Among other presents, an honorable place will be taken by a special edition of the book 'I shall not die' about the outstanding Latvian artist Ilmars Blumbergs published in tribute to the 70th anniversary of the artist with the support of Baltic International Bank.
